Kumono was a small, peaceful village. It nestled in between two large moutain ranges on a small cliff overlooking a valley. The location was tranquil. And like all small, peaceful villages in this kind of thing, it'll probally be blown up/burned down later on.
Kim Manni was one of the people who lived in Kumono. She was parentless and tended to be doted upon by the local population.
Last night there was an earthquake that shook the moutains, though kumono was relatively unharmed. It was during that earthquake that Kim picked up the signal.
Kim had a very unqie cellphone. A stranger had given it to her to play with when she was a baby, but the phone seemed to have.... magical properties. Last night, during the earthquake, it had picked up something else nearby. Some other source of magical energy. Intriquided by her usual sense of curiosity, the next morning she took off own the moutain trail and into the valley below, trying to find the signal.
Kim looked back up the large side of the moutain. The sun had just begun to peek its head over the top of the range, but it was still dark down in the forest in the valley. Kim looked at her phone again, trying to determine where the signal was. In truth, she had never been this far from her village by herself before.
Suddenly her phone started to beep rapidly. Kim stopped moving and looked at the phone, then below her. In the ground there was just the tinest crack.
This can't be right... it says that I'm standing right on top of the source of magic.........
She stood there, perplexed and trying to peer through the crack. She couldn't see anything.
